keevacaereni: (books)
So, after the recent crack that has proliferated on my lj, I bring you poetry in an effort to raise the tone somewhat.

This is the poem quoted in my journal title, by D Violet Dinsdale.

For Angels treat her uplands
And Heaven's about her downs
Her slumbering wolds a-gleaming
With little ancient towns.
From tale enchanted castle
To fairy-haunted glen:
There's witchery in Yorkshire
For Yorkshire-fostered men.

Apparently for Yorkshire-fostered women too. *is homesick*

Still, at least I get to go home this Easter. I shall go tramping around in the fields behind the park and pretend I'm on a moor somewhere. Thank God for the holidays!
